The City of Petaluma is pleased to announce the creation of a Career & Lifestyle Guide that showcases Petaluma as a place to grow a career and build a life. Available as a printed document or a downloadable .pdf, the Guide is designed to be distributed by local employers to top recruits considering a job in the area.
“Our new Career & Lifestyle Guide allows us to achieve two goals,” states Ingrid Alverde, Petaluma Economic Development Manager. “We’re responding to Petaluma employers who have asked us for assistance attracting top talent. At the same time, we’re sharing the story of Petaluma with people outside the area.”
The 40+ page Guide blends data points about business, schools, and housing with stories and photos featuring Petaluma residents and venues. This information is meant to complement what an employer provides and give job seekers a more complete picture of what a career and/or life in Petaluma might look like.
“We designed the Guide to help job seekers think through concerns about where their spouse might find a job, where their kids will go to school, and how they’ll build a new social and career network,” says Alverde. “Factors like these can determine whether someone will accept or decline a job offer, particularly if there’s a relocation involved.”
